The Explorator CCR45 is the ultimate all-road 25mm internal size crossover wheelset. At just 1575g, it combines IONA hubs, Alpina Extralite spokes and a 45mm aero rim for speed on tarmac and control on rough terrain without compromise.

Equipped with our in-house manufactured ERE IONA II hubs proven reliable over the past decade and build to last. Straight-pull 20/24H configuration with ERE custom bearings for maximum durability and smooth performance.

Constructed from high-modulus Toray carbon, it provides exceptional stiffness, strength, and durability while keeping weight impressively low. The rim’s DNA comes directly from our GA40 World Cup–winning platform, refined into a true all-road rim equally at home on fast tarmac or demanding gravel sectors. One rim. Any road. No compromise.

Why we use Alpina Extralite spokes
Italian Alpina Extralite spokes deliver exceptional strength-to-weight performance thanks to their double-butted 2.0–1.7–2.0 mm profile. In our internal testing they consistently outperformed DT Competition and Pillar, Competition Race, making Alpina the logical choice as our new standard spoke. Manufactured from high-grade 302 stainless steel, these spokes offer excellent fatigue resistance, durability, and consistent build quality while keeping weight low. To further improve reliability, we combine them with ABT/ABS patented nipples. This innovative self-locking system uses a nylon insert that completely prevents nipples from loosening over time, while maintaining traditional spoke routing. The result is a wheel that remains stable and secure without requiring special assembly procedures whether built automatically or by hand for riders, this means maximum performance, reliability, and the lowest possible weight.
