How to active Strava Leaderboards for electric bikes

With Strava becoming a basic tool for most cyclists, what do you do when you buy an E-Bike?

Lets be honest! it's not fair to by stealing everyones times when you have powered assistance! traditional riders work hard to beat times and improve themselfs! But to climb fast on an ebike you still need power and different technique! With E-Bikes becoming popular you should be comparing against other E-Riders!

But what about the decents? You want to compare your times against normal riders? E-Bikes actually have a slight advantage in some areas, but overall they handle in a completely different way! So should we be comparing against normal bikes?

Either way tracking your E-Bike ride on Strava is simple!!!

Step 1. Start strava as usual
Step 2. Ride ride your bike.
Step 3. when saving your ride, type your ride name in - go down - add a photo if you want - then tap the bar that say Sport. scroll down the menu and select E-Bike ride.

The Strava leaderboards for E-Bikes is also simple but not as straight forward as you might think!?

The leaderboard sections have to created from scratch! This is good and bad! It's bad because I know personally I want to compare my times against my regular bike. But I can do that by looking at my previous activities. It's good because if your looking to get faster you should be comparing against other E-Bike riders! Also because Strava can only do certain lengths in some areas of the trail, there may be up hills and flats E-Bikers can go faster!

To Creat leaderboard segments for E-Bikes!

Step 1. you need to go to a desktop PC or Mac
Step 2. Log onto Strava and go to activities
Step 3. Choose the E-Bike ride you want to make your segments on.
Step 4. On the left hand side you will see a spanner, click it, then click "creat segment" at the top
Step 5. At the top of this page you have your start and stop segments, put the markers where you want
Step 6. Click creat and give it a name!

That's it! simple as that! for a video tutorial on how to do it Click here
