Design and Frame
The Defy Advanced E+ Elite features a carbon frame that closely mirrors the geometry of the traditional Defy series, known for its comfortable endurance-oriented design. The frame incorporates Giant’s D-Fuse technology in the seatpost and handlebars, enhancing ride comfort by absorbing road vibrations. Notably, the bike offers generous tire clearance, accommodating up to 38mm tires, allowing riders to customize their setup for varied road conditions. Gravel bike in winter maybe?
SyncDrive Move Plus Motor
At the heart of this e-road bike is Giant’s newly developed SyncDrive Move Plus motor. This rear hub motor weighs a mere 1.7 kg and delivers 30 Nm of torque, which Giant claims feels comparable to 75 Nm in mid-drive motors due to its efficient power application. The motor is designed to provide a natural riding experience, minimizing the lurching sensation often associated with e-bikes. it’s specially tuned for the pedalling pattern of performance road riding, with minimal energy loss and more torque at higher speeds. The result is a natural feel when accelerating or maintaining steady power at speed, and no motor drag while freewheeling or coasting.

Battery and Range
The integrated 400 Wh battery, weighing 2.3 kg, is seamlessly housed within the downtube, maintaining the bike’s sleek aesthetic. Depending on factors like assist level, terrain, and rider input, the Defy Advanced E+ Elite offers a range between 27 to 74 miles on a single charge. For those seeking extended adventures, an optional range extender is available.
Integration with SRAM AXS
A standout feature of the Defy Advanced E+ Elite is its integration with SRAM’s AXS wireless shifting system. Additional wireless blips are positioned below the brake levers, allowing riders to adjust assist levels without removing their hands from the handlebars, enhancing safety and convenience.
